When we started Final Round we wanted a game that would use simple rules with a good mix of realism and gameplay. Forging the complexity of a battlefield into playable rules turned out to be a tough task - but we hope we got it right.
Our most important reason for doing this game is simply the fun in creating something. We would very much like to encourage you to start creating your own wargame resources. On our part, we are open to suggestions and contributions from all sides - so if you would like to take an active role in Final Round you're more than welcome.

The Final Round rules are divided into small rulesets, each covering a specific aspect of WWII wargaming. The core ruleset is Infantry Combat which allows to recreate small unit actions with infantry only.
A second ruleset covering the use of guns is in a playtesting stadium but can already be used. The third ruleset covering tanks is complete.
All rulesets have two common traits: They are meant to be simple and thus highly playable while maintaining a reasonable level of realism and they are available for free download.

Scenarios are the icing on the cake for every wargame and this is especially true for a historical one. The scenarios will provide you with information on which units to deploy on the table and how to set up the battlefield. Last but not least, every scenario will include bits of historical background information. As with the rules, scenarios are available for free download.
